Healthy Waterways

Healthy Waterways is a program of the South East Queensland Healthy Waterways Partnership (the Partnership), a whole-of government, whole-of-community collaboration.  It focuses on leadership, commitment and voluntary cooperation to understand, plan and manage the use of the precious waterways and catchments of South East Queensland.  The SEQ Healthy Waterways region stretches from the Queensland/New South Wales border, north to Noosa and west to the Great Dividing Range.

The Partnership resulted from the amalgamation of the Brisbane River Management Group (1991 - 2001) and the South East Queensland Regional Water Quality Management Strategy project (1995 - 2001) and seeks to build on the outcomes of these programs.

Ipswich City Council is a valued partner in the Healthy Waterways initiative and is committed to enhancing our waterways and the environment by reducing the impact of wastewater treatment on our environment.
