Our Strategies

The protection of the natural environment is interwoven into our daily operations. In conducting our business we aim to:

operate in compliance with relevant environmental legislation;
minimise environmental risks to Council and the community; and
demonstrate environmental responsibility through sustainable service provision.

This is reinforced in our adherence to the Environmental Protection Act 1994 and related environmental regulations and policies. These impose a general duty on Ipswich Water and its employees to protect the environment. Ipswich Water is licensed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to conduct operations within the bounds of strict set environmental targets.

In this context, management of the water cycle and sustainable water use remain key issues for our business.
