Permanent Water Conservation Measures

From 1 December 2009, all SEQ (South East Queensland) areas, which includes Ipswich City, moved to Permanent Water Conservation Measures.

Under Permanent Water Conservation Measures residents can:

  • use efficient sprinklers and hoses to water gardens and lawns, except between 10.00 am and
4.00 pm or on Mondays, and as long as it's in accordance with the QWC's (Queensland Water Commission's) Efficient Irrigation for Water Conservation Guideline
  • wash vehicles and outdoor areas at any time - as long as water is used efficiently
  • fill new pools with town water and existing pools can be filled as long as efficient fittings are in place

For complete details of what is allowed under the new restrictions visit the QWC website.

All water use activities should be managed within the Target 200 limit. And remember, please use only what you need.
