Getting Connected

If you are moving into a newly built home you may need to organise a water connection. Most new homes and subdivisions already have a water connection, however, a single block of land for example, may not. You can check with Ipswich Water whether or not the property is connected to the town water supply system.

New Water Connections

  1. If required, organise the design through Ipswich Water or a private consultant.
  2. Complete and lodge your application (‘Request for Water and Sewerage Services'), providing an appropriate site map.
  3. If your connection is standard, a fee is charged at the time your application form is lodged. If the design requires a quotation, Ipswich Water will send you a quote for design of connection (i.e. for connections larger than 20mm).
  4. Pay quoted fee (if quotation required).
  5. Ipswich Water will process your application, processing time will vary depending on nature of application.
  6. Ipswich Water will arrange your connection. If you have specified a certain location for your connection, we will try to accommodate your wishes if possible.
